Colferoloy® is a trade mark of Wall Colmonoy Ltd. UK. It represents a new generation of thermal spray powder. The powders are Fe-based und contain Ni, Cr and B. Its microcrystalline structure and the achieved high level of hardness recommends  Colferoloy™ for applications of wear resistance under dry conditions providing excellent corrosion resistance at the same time.  The relatively low level of alloying elements make sure that the impact of fluctuating metal prices remains in a reasonable range. Colferoloy™ has the potential, alone or in blends with carbides or borides, to replace existing coating materials such as NiCrBSi, stainless steel, Cr3C2-NiCr or even WC-Co.
